"Equilibrium" Exhibition opening on 10 June 2023 at the Arts Association of Pretoria
In this exhibition Corne’ attempts to portray the scenes as sacred places… a calm dream world of landscapes. It is about her relation to the cosmos, the celebration of light as a positive sense of being, our connection to the earth as a place of worship, the meditation on life, death and loss, the brevity of our existence on earth, the healing power and refuge we should find in it and the strive to give two-dimensional shape to these thoughts.
Corne’ has a personal, intimate, intuitive and revived relationship with the earth. For her, the landscape has always been a source of inspiration and comfort…it offers a sense of stillness. Through the creative process of painting landscapes, layer upon layer, she transforms the experience of loss by finding a calm and balanced state of mind (equilibrium).
In this exhibition the viewer is invited to rediscover his/her relationship with the earth and to find beauty, joy and peace in the fleeting moments of life.
